Finix 10mg Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor drug and binds to H+/K+-exchanging ATPase in gastric parietal cells, resulting in blockage of acid secretion.

• Finix 10mg Capsule is a prescription medication used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers, heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and a condition called Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Indication

Finix 10mg Capsule is an anti-ulcer medicine that contains Rabeprazole. It is used to treat acid-related conditions of the stomach and intestine such as acid reflux, peptic ulcers, and some other stomach conditions associated with excessive acid production. It works by reducing the amount of acid produced in your stomach.

Pharmacology

By blocking the gastric H+/K+-ATPase at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell, Finix 10 reduces gastric acid secretion. Rabeprazole has been referred to as a gastric proton pump inhibitor since this enzyme is thought to be the acid (proton) pump within the parietal cell.

Dosage & Administration of Finix 10mg Capsule

Adult Dose:

• Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease: 20 mg daily for 4-8 weeks. The maintenance dose is 10 or 20 mg per day, taken once in the morning.
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Initially, 60 mg once in the morning, adjusted to a maximum dose of 120 mg per day if needed. Daily doses exceeding 100 mg should be given in 2 divided doses.
• Peptic ulcer: 20 mg once in the morning for 4-8 weeks (duodenal ulcer) or 6-12 weeks (gastric ulcer).
• H.pylori infection: In combination with other medications, such as clarithromycin and amoxicillin or clarithromycin and metronidazole, for 1 week. The dosage is 20 mg twice daily.
• Erosive oesophagitis: 20 mg per day for 4-8 weeks. If healing is incomplete, treatment can be continued for another 8 weeks. The maintenance dose is 10 or 20 mg per day, taken once in the morning.
• Elderly: No dosage adjustment is needed.
• Hepatic impairment: No dosage adjustment is needed.

Child Dose:

• Delayed-release capsule (sprinkles): Safety and efficacy not established for children below 1 year. For children aged 1-11 years weighing less than 15 kg, the dosage is 5 mg once daily before a meal, for up to 12 weeks. It can be increased to 10 mg per day if the response is inadequate. For children aged 1-11 years weighing more than 15 kg, the dosage is 10 mg once daily before a meal, for up to 12 weeks.
• Delayed-release tablet: Safety and efficacy not established for children below 12 years. For children aged 12 years and above, the dosage is 20 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks.

Renal Dose:

No dosage adjustment is needed for patients with renal impairment.

Interaction

Drug-Drug Interactions:

Contraindications

Finix 10 isn't usually recommended during pregnancy as there's no firm evidence it's safe. if you're pregnant, it's better to try to treat symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn without taking medicine.

The SPC advises avoiding the use of rabeprazole during lactation. levels for both drugs are low, and in addition, a large proportion of any of the drugs ingested by the infant is likely to be destroyed by the acid in the stomach.
